IMO the equation …
IMO the equation was simple: to have any chance of challenging the 1200GS you needed to make a bike that has 3 INDISPENSABLE specs:
1 same level of long touring 2-up confort
2 LOWER WEIGHT
3 LOWER PRICE
In simple words it simply has to match the GS on road, beat it offroad and be cheaper.
This should be the next generation bike in this segment.
Bit dissapointed.

Dear technicians …
Dear technicians and marketing specialists please have a look at the NICI-videos on youtoube to see realy good design of a possible 1200 Tenere and all the enthusiastic comments about it?
One by one shock, a realy bad April fool hoax, 261kg and 23ltr Tank,.and where is the symetric underseat exhaust for symetric side cases? Do you realy think with this big steamship anybody should go on his world tour? With a bad copy of the BMW-GS you can’t get the pronounced leadership?
Yamaha, shame on you!
