@ChargerHemi29 No …
@ChargerHemi29 No the engine never been cracked open – totally stock inside.
Mariah has pipes, remapped FI, ram air and MSDs.
Victory builds these engines with 4 valve SOHC, FI. When you open up the air intake and exhaust and the big valves do their job, the results are astounding. Lots of new HP for very few dollars.

This is why you …
This is why you take your bike to a guy who is specialized in head work and doing stroker kits for Harley’s. HD= Heavy Duty Cost. If anyone is interested, I have a good friend in B.C that is an absolute wizard with HD motors, and has been in business for over 15 years. Never go to Dealer.

Well…I’m going to …
Well…I’m going to guess you bored it out to a 103, the motor is at least a 96 from factory to start, so that means it is already stroked for you, it’s fuel injected, so you have a Thunder Max on it with 337 primary gears (you should have these if you don’t) heads ported, polished, milled, and a TW9 cam? I’m betting that you didn’t put a bigger throttle body on it which you should, and I bet you will push 125-30 hp. How’s my aim? Lol You will spank that Victory.

Well, there is that …
Well, there is that little issue that they cost too much on the front end as well. But I will agree, HD does do a rape job on add ons and service work. It’s completely off the charts crazy for just the scheduled maintenance costs – like a Ducatti. Maybe that’s why HD bought MV Agusta.
Siempre,
Titus

HD makes an OK bike …
HD makes an OK bike, but it’s not a Vic.
Add the performance to that the fact that Vics are more reliable than any other bike built (JD Powers) including all the Japanese lines and you have one helluva good machine.

Thank you for …
Thank you for pointing out the biggest problem with bikes made by Harley Davidson. They are underpowered UNTIL you go back to the dealer and spend spend spend. They make them underpowered so you HAVE to go back and spend more money just to keep up with everyone else.
Then, EVERYTHING costs an arm and a leg.
If thats what you want then thats what you want.
Good luck.

@HDMarkyB
But…. …

@HDMarkyB
But….
Down here in Austin, we’re running strong, selling motorcycles and doing a LOT of custom and Hi-Po work. Victory has also done a helluva job getting us new bikes that the public loves like the Vegas Jackpot (the bike in the drag video), the Vision and new for 2010 Cross Country and Cross Roads.

Enjoy that Fat Bob, Ride Long and Thanks for Buying American.

@HDMarkyB
Oh yes, …

@HDMarkyB
Oh yes, it’s a tough time to be in the motorcycle business, particularly starting a new line. And, HD has that 95 year headstart, so they have an established dealer network. Vic on the other hand has all new dealers because HD generally won’t allow Vic in their dealerships. So, the economy dumps and these new dealerships fall quicker.

Titus I’d been …
Titus I’d been ALLOVER a Vic if there was a dealer within 500 miles! They may be reliable BUT I was a bit spooked about having to travel that far for a sched maintenance! There was two dealers here in upstate NY and both have given up the Vic franchise..NOT a good sign ya know? I still love them-but..Have a new Fat Bob in the garage…

Both nice bikes. I …
Both nice bikes. I would love to line up my Bagger to your Victory. I have had a lot of Victory owners stop me and ask what I have done to the normally slow Harley. Speed is money how fast do you want to go….Myself I added about $7K of speed and I like it. Will be taking it to the strip this summer to get some good numbers.

No – not dirty. But, all things being equal or close I’ll ride American every time. And Victory has brought the American motorcycle to world beating standards, so that’s what I ride.
